There's also some scuttlebutt that they are going against EU policy and are forming trade deals with Russia.

Hardly surprising. Greece is backed into a corner and its people cannot only care about the here and now. They are now being shortsighted, and this will ruin them in the future- but they press on because they think Germany will do anything to prevent them from exiting the Eurozone
