I'm pretty sure even the traveler can't terra form a non terrestrial planet ergo a gas giant. The pressure on Jupiter is only slightly above the pressures required for fusion to occur. You can't terraform mass away without violating the laws of physics, the gravity itself would be crushing. If the traveler could some how do all this there would be no darkness because the traveler would could control the universe.

Yeah you're right but look at Venus. There is no traveler on Venus but it's still filled with jungles, water, cities, cars, and insect life but in reality Venus's average temp is 864°F (462°C) Nothing and no one can stands that temp everyday. Plus, the air is polluted with tons of volcanic ash clouds.

  • Volcanic gasses cause global cooling (google 1816, the year without summer). Venus's thick layer of greenhouse gasses are mostly responsible for it's surface temperature, not necessarily it's proximity to the sun. In fact given an earth like climate it is estimated to have a hot but tolerable climate of around an average 100 degree range in mid latitudes. Ultimately though the same runaway greenhouse effect would occur again unless global cooling aerosols like those found in volcanic gas were held in check. But debating science in a science fiction universe is moot. The real answer is that the traveler terraformed mercury, Venus, and Mars. It's literally stated in the opening sequence of the game, and followed up by grimoire cards. As for Jupiter and Saturn the grimoire does mention them, but in a much more mysterious sort of way.
