If Ascendant Material can be traded into Radiant Materia; there is absolutely no point of adding Radiant material in the first place, kid.

I'm not debating about whether or not radiant was needed. Since it's here, it obsoletes ascendant shards. A way to exchange something that's obsolete for something that's useful would be a welcome addition kid.

That is the whole point, kid. If people could upgrade Crota gear with Ascendant materials, it would get maxed out almost instantly because people had so many of them.

They aren't going to offer to exchange ascendant for radiant. It defeats the purpose of getting radiant, kid.

It doesn't defeat anything. It makes something that we get rewarded with useful, that is now obsolete. Getting ascendant shards at the end of a nightfall is like getting zero reward. They have no use anymore, unless you're leveling another class. Kid.

That is how progression works. Something has to be obsolete when new items are released, kid.

New players need the old rewards still, kid.

Which is why you create an exchange. New players get useful items, old players actually have a use for it. See how easy that is, kid?

No, you don't create an exchange. You stop adding new upgrade material, kid.

You create an exchange or secondary use for it. Keeping it as it currently is basically penalizes "endgame" players for the sake of new players, which is counter productive. Completing an activity and having an obsolete drop is the same as having no drop at all. It's a common mechanic employed by MMO's kid.

I would agree to that. And what then of the horde of ascendent materials many of us have? Scrap?

You would only have a horde of ascendant if you constantly did Vault of Glass, kid.

VoG, Nightfalls, weekly, and breaking down of legendary gear you don't need. Yep, if you do none of those, no large stash of obsolete shards sitting in the vault. See my point?
