I like you. Mine would probably be "enjoy by" ipa by stone brewing co

I had one of those on Monday. It was the enjoy by 4.20. Pretty tasty. Another good example of Stone doing what it does best: making delicious IPAs.

That's my favorite ipa so far. Only thing is that it varies slightly every batch. Dirtwolf seems to vary a little too
-
Keeps it interesting. Our pale ale is a single hop series, so each batch is identical except we switch hops every time.
-
Our? How is it identical with different hops? Lol confused

I'm the head brewer (basically in charge of the brewery) at Walking Man Brewing in Washington State. The malt base, yeast, volume, and pretty much everything about the beer is the same. But whenever we brew a new batch of it (about every 2 months or so) we pick a different hop and make adjustments so that it maintains the same IBU (bitterness, different hops have more bittering acids than others). So it's always a 5.5% abv 35 IBU pale ale with the same malt flavors and wildly different hop flavors.

Oh that's awesome! I'm in Arizona. Not sure if you guys distribute or if I've ever seen any of your beers.

We're pretty small and don't make it out of Washington and Oregon. The owner wants to keep the operation fairly small to keep the focus on the quality and craftsmanship. He's had opportunities to expand and even sell out before, but it's just not his vision for this place.

That's respectable man. That's supposedly the same with Russian river... So I still haven't gotten to try Pliny
-
Yeah, Hair of the Dog is another great example of purposefully keeping it small despite demand. Pliny is a great beer, I've had both versions many times, but the hype is crazy. It's made with the same ingredients that are accessible to everyone and I'm sure some other brewery out has an almost spot on clone of it and doesn't receive the same attention.

That's good to know lol same with heady topper. I heard dirt wolf is as close to heady as you are gonna get. Granted these are just random people saying this. I take what I can get. How do you like being a brewmaster?
-
Compared to just being a professional brewer? Well I have less hair now, more grey in my beard, and more sleepless nights. And I love it. It's challenging as heck which keeps me from getting bored. And it's the beer industry which is an amazing community full of strange and wonderful people. So again, never bored.
