Nat type 2 is the best you'll get with a router but it depends on what brand and the restrictions the router has, you'll need to open up the ports and have a mess around with what you can as in messing with dmz. UPNP ect.
I had the same problems with a nat type 2 getting voice restrictions ect, took a bit of researching but opening up the ports properly fixed the problem.
