Well, if you do Eris's bounties, I think you get legendary gauntlets and an opportunity to get an exotic from xur. At least that's what I did.

I think ive only done 1 of the eris bounties. How hard are they? Can they be done with just 1 guy?

They aren't very hard, they can take a little while to complete though. If you want the legendary gauntlets, you have to complete all of her urn bounties. But, you'll need to do the main DLC missions before having access to those. And yeah they are just single player missions.

Cool. I have 17 strange coins saved or so, the only thing Xur had for me to purchase was gauntlets. I didn't buy them. is it better to wait until he has a class specific item for me, like a titan helm? Or does it not really matter, an exotic is an exotic regardless

Personally, I think the class specific item would be good. On the other hand, you could try to see what type of weapons he has to offer. I.e: I had the thunderlord heavy machine gun from pvp, so I bought my Hunter an exotic helmet. It just depends on if you get a weapon you'll use a lot. If not, get the class item. You can always just buy an exotic engram, too. But who knows what you'll get from it.

Okay. I only have 2 legendary weapons right now. For The People auto rifle and holdfast IV machine gun. I wasnt sure if i should spend the shards to max these out or wait until i find a better weapon..

What about legendary gear?

The machine gun is Prestige IV, i do have legendary leg armor, Holdfast Type 1, wasnt sure if i should try and max that out or wait for something better as it was my first legendary gear item.

You should max it out. because even if you get something better, you'll get more back when you dismantle it. But, just based on leveling up, you're gonna want to focus on armor.

What do you think about the auto rifle? Whats your weapon of choice?

I mainly use pulse rifles and hand cannons. I'm using the TKO(First Round) pulse rifle right now. I just got rid of my exotic hand cannon. I don't really use the autos in this game, most of them tend to have bad recoil.

I agree, i mainly employ this auto because its legendary and i can hold almost 500 rounds

I mean, if it works for you, then stick to it. And I forgot to mention that while doing Eris's bounties, she gives you a fusion rifle called the murmur. It's legendary.

Personally i like the scout rifle better than the auto, i can get way more precision kills with it. The downside is the magazine and i can only carry like 240 ammo
