Manny wouldn't win then, or now. Pacquio was beating people up that he was making fight him at catch weights. Cotto fights naturally at 154, and dropped to 147 and did well. Pacquio made Cotto drop to 142 to fight him...do you have any idea what that does to someone who's already in the top 10 pereciltile of an in shape human being. The guy was drained of his strength and stamina. At 147 that fight would have went very different. If you disagree, you don't know boxing, you're a casual who plays fight night. Regardless this fight will almost definitely end up a draw. Either two were ever scares to fight one another. The promoters wouldn't allow it. With MMA taking over, if they fought 5 years agp, where would boxing go from there? It would have been more dead then it already is. They will milk the public for most likely 3 more fights, which in real numbers equates to cool billion + (tickets, promotions, apparel, PPV, all the increased business Vegas will see from the people there to watch this at stores, restaurants, clubs etc...and of course gambling. If you disagree with this, you don't know business, you're the sheep they want you to be.

  • Boxings dead?? It's probably more popular know than it ever has been. Last year froch v groves 2 sold 60k tickets in minuets then they released another 20k which went as quickly. USA has a heavyweight world champion for the first time in years and soon klitschko is fighting in America again Hopefully setting up a massive unification fight, boxing events are selling places out all over the world every weekend and you're saying it's dead? I think you're the one that doesn't know anything about boxing.

  • Fair enough it's nowhere near what it was in America, but I think a lot of that is down to not having any exciting world champs. Hopefully with floyd v manny (hbo&showtime starting to work together) and wilder bring the heavyweight back into the spotlight it can start to rebuild its self.

  • I should also specify I'm one of the few boxing diehards left...I wish it wasn't the truth..but it's reality. Younger generation is into MMA.

  • I should have specified...in America boxing is very close to dead.
