I haven't played any Destiny since I got into Helldivers
Granted I had decided to stop playing Destiny a couple of weeks before Helldivers released, but I was lost searching for an adequate replacement until I ran into Helldivers. I stand by saying the only thing that can make Destiny as good as it should be is if they can make the content dynamic. A relatively smaller game like Helldivers is more fun to replay over and over because the missions are all dynamically generated. Also, the difficulty is all skill based, so no RPG level gating.
You have Breaker right from the start which is the best all rounder primary. Everything else is more specialized and an option. I tried the Justice, but I don't use it because I like Patriot, Breaker, Sickle, Supressor, Rail Gun, and Knight more. Mainly I switch things out based on enemy race or just to try something different. It is still very much skill based. Upgrading weapons definitely improves them, but your level doesn't really matter aside from unlocking some weapons and perks.
