The VAULT of MATH
Ring the bell, kiddies. School's now in session. This goes out to all the whiners out there concerning Vault space. Some basic mathematics for your ass.
*You have 9 slots for weapons and gear per character.
That totals to [b]27 slots[/b] for primary, special & heavy weapons, helms, arms, chest, legs, class items, ships, sparrows, shaders and emblems respectively for those who have 3 Guardians.
*Inventory items stack between [b]20[/b] to over [b]100[/b] per slots depending on the items (synths, materials, etc.) so that easily totals over 100 of any material or consumable between 3 guardians. I, for example, have 1008 Saphire Wire and 123 Spirit Bloom on just ONE Hunter.
And for those who're really slow, you can now freely swap anything between guardians and the vault via the site or the app.
What this translates to is STOP F*CKING HOARDING. More than half the shit you have in your vault you probably don't even use. They aren't going to buff your old Shadow Price, so get over it and get rid of it. Are you really gonna ever wear that Cicero shader? Nope. If you know you'll never use that mid/low tier Exotic weapon or armor piece, why the hell are you holding on to it?And as far as sentimentality? ITS A VIDEO GAME. NONE OF THIS SHIT IS REAL.
While a good lot of your are gonna stay bitching, my vault is already streamlined because I keep only what I use, and without having to return to swap gear at the tower anymore, I have no need for duplicates anymore. I'm more than ready for all the new shinies coming in HoW but chances are I won't use all of them either. You have plenty of inventory space as is, without Bungie needing to increase it. It's not their fault you people don't know how to use it properly.
Class dismissed.
EDIT: I say 27 slots because I'm not counting the item you have currently equipped. You need to swap it with another item in order to swap it with another character, hence it goes into the RESERVE 9 slots, so counting it is pointless because it's not a RESERVE.

You have a valid point, I did the same math for somebody in a different thread. At the same time I don't see the problem with BungIE having to make more room. How hard can it be? Seriously? This request for more vault space is completely fair and reasonable. We grind for the gear and there isn't anything wrong with wanting to hold on to the gear you want. When will we use our shadow price? Let me see...patrol/bounties/daily. Plenty of things to do with old gear.

Would have liked more misc space over guns...but in the end I have 3 characters with 30 slots each...if thats not enough then Im doing it wrong

1 ReplyYou actually can hold 10 weapons and armor per type(primary, special, heavy) and a gun that's not particularly useful now may become more relevant in future updates. Play your game let everyone else play theirs.

8 RepliesFor collectors more space is needed. If a warlock collects a set of every armour avail that's vog, Crota, 2 van, 2 do, 2 nm, 2 fwc, Queen and ib that's 12 sets plus all the exotics. If each toon collects all of this you have 2 full sets per toon in the vault plus 27 exotics. There isn't roominthe vault for all of this loot. The game is loot based so why wouldn't we want to keep it all. These numbers don't take into consideration the new how gear which is one more set per vendor and the raid and more exotics. Adding 4 slots just doesn't allow us to collect all we want.

When someone asks for something to be added to a game that doesn't make them a whiner. They have just become part of the developement. And if the paying community want to collect all the weapons then that doesn't give you the right to abuse them.

I've had no issues with vault space. I have all exotics weapons but 3. For the legendaries, each character has 3 snipers and a shotgun. They have their own raid primaries and heavies. Only thing i use my vault for is to keep exotic weapons, transferring weapons, and holding class items that I think are great.
