Ruin Wings or Obsidian Mind?
Okay, I have a serious dilemma here. I can either buy Ruin Wings or Obsidian Mind, but not both.
Here's the rundown:
- I main a warlock, but I love running Sunsinger, have never really used Voidwalker that much, but only because I've never had a decent exotic to compliment it (I have HotPF, and Light Beyond Nemesis, as well as Apotheosis Veil, so I just run a Sunsinger setup for everything. But that's not the subject here).
- I have no exotic gauntlets for my titan. And Ruin Wings look super-sweet. Dat moar heavy ammo perk tho :3
I seriously have no clue which to pick. I'm sure there's a bunch of you who have, and use, both. If you had to pick, which one would you say is more useful?
Help me out, please.
EDIT: Answered! I'm going with door #3, buy BOTH Ruin Wings and Obsidian Mind, and pass up on the MIDA. Since I've recently acquired the Fang, Gheleons, and VoC, it makes less sense to buy yet ANOTHER scout rifle that I'm probably not going to level up immediately anyway.
Thanks for all of the input! I might try to roll RW a few times before I spend any SC, but unless I get lucky (there's a 1 in 6 chance for gauntlets), it looks like I'll be passing on the MIDA.

5 RepliesI assume you have run three nightfalls and weekly heroics at lvl 30 first? If not, get those done first, in case you get a drop. Mida is a great exotic, but I get far more use from the OM and RW.....

1 ReplyKeep in mind, you will likely be able to upgrade MiDA, all of these killer legendaries will be dust collectors when HoW drops. Not that you can't upgrade armor, but a scout that does max damage will be good to have when you start the DLC.

if you watch planet destiny he gives the min and max stat rolls for the gear being sold. I think he said that obsidian mind had a good roll and the ruin wings had a pretty low one.

1 ReplyNeither. Save your coins for a better sale lot . both of those items are quite easy to come by if youre looting the exotic boxes 3x a week, and killing normal/hard atheon 3x a week as well.

5 RepliesConsidering they will probably patch the heavy ammo glitch, ruin wings get my vote. I use ruin wings 90 percent of the time on my titan. Although for voidwalker it is nearly always obsidian mind.... Why not both though?

Could be a life saver with a few heavies bearing down on you. I really like Obsidian Mind. Turns your Nova Bombs into fast loading killing zones. The advantage for Ruin Wings is that it works with either Titan loadout. Can't go wrong with either one and it is pretty likely that the other will either show up again fairly soon or turn up in a purchased engram in the coming weeks. If you want to start playing around with Voidwalker, Obsidian Mind is the way to go. Nova Bombs heaven. If you want to turn your Titan into a lean, mean, heavy ammo using machine go for Ruin Wings.

I would buy the gauntlet engram to see if you can get RW and then if you don't, then I would say buy OM.

8 RepliesIn your case I would suggest ruin wings. By far my favorite titan exotic. Only competition is helm of St 14. Obsidian mind is really good too but I'd you don't really care for the void walker then I would say ruin wings.

Use obsidian mind regardless, helps build supers with either class, and I need fireborn asap in nightfalls

If you want to be able to spam the living crap out of nova bomb during PVE then you want black mind. The kills on your super count towards the next one. A nicely placed super with the right perks can instantly replenish your super. However, ruin wings are A grade Titan armor. The chance to get more heavy ammo drops is random still and not always noticeable, but you can get up to 5 rockets from one heavy ammo drop. (4 usually)

Ruin Wings are definitely nice, love getting 3 rockets per heavy drop. I don't own the obsidian mind yet but I am going to buy it. Can't you buy both of them?

Most basic rule is to always go for helmet or body armor over arm or leg armor. So having said that get obsidian. Obsidian is better anyways. Arm and leg armor tend to be for very specialized players that are going for very specific builds.
