It would appear even according to this, that there is a leveling off occurring. The overall trend since the industrial evolution is still warming. What this recent leveling off means is unclear, it could be a fluctuation or it might not be, however that doesn't disprove global warming. With changes in temperature come changes in environment. Its very possible the temperature has risen as far as it can until more environmental changes happen, like more ice melt for example. So all you've done is find a new question for me to research. Cool!

That's why they don't call it "global warming" anymore. Every prediction model has fallen flat on it's face. It's either it's just the natural cycle process of the Earth, and man-made C02 isn't affecting the climate much at all. Or the scientists in the 70's were right, and we are heading into an ice-age, and our C02 production is creating a homeostasis, and preventing the world from freezing over. Which I think is a good thing.

The flattening off at the top of a warming trend is in no way indicative of an ice age. I agree there's more to learn, but to say the earth hasnt gotten warmer is wrong. I am interested to see what this current flattening off means. Also, predictions are just predictions. That's why I'm posting an [b]observation[/b] of a major change. My idea is that we've warmed up as much as we can until the landscape catches up with the climate. Time will tell, and I don't focus on predictions. I focus on whats actually happening.

The last three warm cycles of Earth's history, have been warmer than this one. But look at the C02, it's thru the roof! It would make sense if we were indeed heading into a cooling phase, or are going to in the near future.
