if you play just to get things your time is already over the social aspect is the only thing that keeps people around, item collectors always leave sooner or later

    Why not both? Is it that much to ask for a game that is engaging, has lots to do, experience, work on collecting, all while having fun with friends? If I wanted purely a social time I'd go out with friends. Perhaps you should too. The real world is a far more social place than a video game world. Video games give me a bit of a personal challenge. That's the fun for me. Whether it's acing a guitar hero song on expert or killing some ridiculously complicated boss after weeks of wiping and having the trophies to be reminded of that achievement. Maybe I'm alone in that..
