Alt is short for alternate, as in alternate account. This and many other accounts on Bungie are alts, sometimes people make them to avoid bans, but I'm more referring to the ones people create in order to perpetuate a joke or house a persona. Come tomorrow many alts are being deleted due to the fact that Google accounts whale no longer be supported, which was the go to method for many during the alt creation process.
