As long as your kills are all void, all you have to do to score points each match is have better than a .4 k/d. If you can go 10-10 with a 1.0, that's 30 points. You go 10 - 20, you're still up 10 points for the match. Edit: btw if you can average 10 - 10, it will take you 16 to 17 games to finish it.

  • None of my kills are void. I have 1 void weap which is sniper rifle and every time i use it im dead before i get a shot off. I've tried camping vendors for void weaps and they all require rank 3. I'm rank 1. Im never alive long enough to get any rep to get my rank up. It takes me 3-5 days to complete 3 cruc bounties doing 5-7 runs every night, so 15-21 crucibles to get 3 bounties' worth of rep.

  • Looking at your history, you'll do fine. What your previous games would be with void weapons: 14-15. 40 points 20-7. 86 points 12-13. 34 points 16-8. 64 points 16-13. 54 points 5-6. 13 points 11-15. 25 points 7-6. 23 points That's 309 points in 8 of your last 10 games if you'd used void weapons. Out of the 10, you only would have lost points in 2 games: 4-11. -2 points 2-15. -20 points So you'd have a net 287 points through 10 games. 18 to 20 games would get you Thorn. Just look for decent stat and perk blues and only only only get void kills. The hardest part after that is the mental block of the first couple games where you don't really see the progress as much.

  • If you want to buy a weapon, find a vendor (Dead Orbit, New Monarchy, or Future War Cult) that has the void weapon you want, buy the class item for it, equip it, and go do the PVE bounties. The rep will go toward that faction, then you can use Crucible Marks to actually buy the weapon once your faction is high enough. As for advice in PVP, it depends on which weapon you end up with. Primary, means you have to go raid and hope you get one. If you go Shotgun, you need to learn to camp popular corners on maps and try to catch someone running by (shoot at close range). Fusion Rifle is a bit harder to master, but has a better range. Sniper Rifle means get as far away as you can. Don't stay zoomed in all the time, they will see the red dot and snipe you, just zoom in when you see movement. If you are going heavy, learn where the heavy ammo drops on each map and get to it before it drops. Then follow others in, never go first, and use your heavy to help mop up. You don't have to get kills, assists count as well. So a heavy machine gun is nice because you spray the area real good, then run and let some one else get the actual kill. Avoid deaths if at all possible, shoot a little, then run. Be patient and don't rush in. That's about all I can really say to help. I suck at PVP as well and I was able to complete it with a void shotgun... Hope this helps a bit!

You don't need vendor weapons. Damage is normalized, so any void weapon is fine. Some of the blue weapons that drop after crucible matches actually have the same base stats as legendary and exotic weapons. The Bronzed Nox Volo fusion rifle is a blue weapon, but it's one of the best PvP fusion rifles in the game and has the fastest base RoF of any of them. Figure out which two you're most at ease with between fusion or shotguns for specials and rockets or machine gun for your heavy. Keep a lookout for a void version of the 2 you prefer and when you get them, run a couple bounties to unlock their perks. Once you have them, queue for normal crucible and be sure to camp as much as you need to get kills. As long as you're .5 k/d or better, you're good. Only use your 2 void weapons and your (preferably) axion bolt grenade. Throw in Nova Bomb and you'll get there sooner than you think.

  • How can I tell if a void blue is as good as any other weap? I must've dismantled HUNDREDS of void weaps since the bounty because they all only start at 224 dmg, which I dont understand how it can possibly be as good as a leg or exotic.

  • Just saw a Void Nox Volo drop to someone last crucible match I played, they're out there to find

  • Equip them and stand next to a vendor and compare. Even though they're 224, that number doesn't matter in normal crucible. That's why the Stranger's Rifle has always been one of the best PvP weapons in the game (yes, pre-buff was just as amazing). The ones that drop in Crucible tend to have better base stats, but any blue will work as long as it's void (rocket launcher, I'd look for one that holds 2 in the tube). There is pretty much a blue weapon with the same base stats as almost every weapon in the game, they just don't have as many perk options. Painted Suros and Black Suros ARs have great stats. Gallow's Cure Scout Rifle has the same base stats as B-Line Trauma. Bronzed Nox Volo Fusion Rifle is the fastest firing fusion rifle in the game (that's not full auto). You can find blue Void rocket launchers with tracking. Not sure what the good blue Shotguns are, but just look for good perks.

  • Sorry to be so dense but what base stats should I focus on? Impact? RoF?

  • I found a blue shotgun with the same base stats as my legendary Two to the Morgue, it's the Sidewinder MK.53.

  • Range and impact are the best generally, but RoF on fusions is a huge advantage.

  • Just got a sultan sa/5 blue random Heavy engram from patrol earth. It has tracking and void but only 1 per tube and absolutely horrendous RoF.

  • It has the speed reload perk though, so that helps

  • Thank you for all your advice. I still have a long way to go, but I am consistently hitting .60-1.0 in my last 5-7 matches of skirmish. Hopefully I'm finally getting better. Still need better void weaps, but I'm getting close-quarters practice with both shotguns and fusions,

  • Boy did I speak too soon. My next skirmish every single person on the other team had more points than my entire team combined. Several times I emptied an entire clip into a guy and his shields didn't even get DENTED...after a full clip... I'm starting to think it's just not a very good system. I'm trying really hard, learning all the ins and outs as best I can, and right when I feel like I'm starting to get it, I don't just lose. I EPICALLY lose, like 2 kills 16 deaths or something like that more to do with the ridiculousness of how overpowered the other team is more than my inability. I didn't mistake watching my entire clip empty into a guy and he doesn't even get a scratch, meanwhile he doesnt even aim in MY DIRECTION and one shots me. I truly do not understand...

  • I literally always dismantled anything with less attk until now. I hope I don't wait another 5 months for something worth using to drop. Not sure how I'll ever know if it's worthwhile, and with all the time required to level each one up for its' perks in hopes it's the right one only to find out it sucks, well, I'm beyond being able to deal with that frustration.

  • RoF to suit your play style and the most impact you can get is what you'll want. Good perks can help but for the bounty just focus on the major things.
