Great. Now we are going to have Red Death users and Hard-light users running around all over the place in IB. I swear if something like suros or Ghorn gets sold next then either Bungie is up to something or Xur is freaking high.

  • I agree... hardlight sucks dick... it will not even compete with red death or even suros..... besides Xur rarity.... it isnt good..... at all.

  • lol If the entire enemy team had Hard Light, that would honestly be one of the easiest games to win in the history of PvP lol The more of my enemy that are running that blasted useless AR the better i say! :)

  • Wasn't saying it would make anything harder just more tedious. Hard light is not the best exotic but in the hands of someone who knows how to use it, it can get pretty annoying

  • [i]"in the hands of someone who knows how to use it, it can get pretty annoying"[/i] Arguably; but then the same could be said for literally any weapon in the game (even the much maligned No Land Beyond!!)! :) Hard Light is largely garbage (in my opinion - But then i generally hate all high ROF AR's); so if someone was doing damage/getting many kills with the Hard Light, then count yourself lucky they weren't running with something decent instead ;)

  • I use HardLight as my primary exotic, have it maxed and everything. The first game of IB for me I had 29 kills with a 3.22 KDR. Most of my other games I have carried a 2.2-2.7 KDR with it. It doesn't suck, but what nobody understands is that it is a niche firearm. You can't use it in every situation, and I usually back it up with a sniper rifle. Think of it as an SMG and that's where it shines, especially when you get fitted stock unlocked on it.

  • Fair points, and well made too - If a weapon works for you, then slay away :) Personally speaking though, even in (well, especially in...) the situation you mentioned Re: sniping, for i can't see a situation where i would choose a high ROF-low impact weapon over a high impact, low ROF gun (i.e. Hand Cannon) - The TTK is so much shorter on the Hand Cannons/Pulse rifles that everytime i have used a high ROF weapon, it has felt like i could not get enough rounds into them in time to kill them before they killed me, even if my aim was spot on and i shot first (for example). Especially when using a sniper, because if i hit them once with my trusty LDR, then it only takes a single HC shot to finish them off (if they charge/get to close to snipe etc.) - So my TTK is almost instantaneous - With a High RoF AR, they have a good second or two to get THEIR shots in to me; and as we all know, in a 1vs1 situation, that is more than enough time to kill someone. Also, thinking about it in the wider perspective too, i feel the Monte Carlo (where available etc.) would be a much better 'assault' SMG weapon, because of the inherent bonuses to melee - So one could soften them up with the AR, then finish with a melee.
