I have found it works the best to invite someone who has a level 30 or higher and set each mission as high as possible, you can fight your way through with weapons that need upgraded and they make sure you don't die. When you turn in a bounty make sure you have items that need upgraded, and do the patrol missions while doing the story line to get the extra rep, exp, and glimmer. I went through the story line and hit level 20 with a set of purple and exotic in just about 12 hours... level 2 to 26

Nice Dova...you earned the purple and gold before reaching level 20? Someone recently told me to switch armor and weapons to those needing xp, when cashing bounties...yes it makes a huge difference!

I had a ton of blue and purple engrams on the Warlock, set them all in the vault, go in to the next character and take them out of the vault. Use the new character to take them to the cryptarch. Doing it that way I had all blue weapons and armor on the Hunter by level 10. Then had a full set of purple armor and weapons when it got to 20. Plus the new character gets a shot in the arm with the cryptarch rep.

Excellent...I wasn't sure if that works better for the "random class" items...I decrypted a blue with the Warlock and got an awesome helmet for the Titan
