It's either not enough people have it, or too many have it, and im leaning towards the latter. When only 40% of players have it, there are enough to make it a "requirement" for Crota, and that leaves the other 60% as undesirable. Even if you have hunger or truth it doesn't matter, they want ghorn. I understand, ghorn is a lot better.
But im not going to get ghorn, I know that. I've gotten almost every other gun I've ever wanted and I think that's why it won't give it to me. The only way is to buy a new Xbox one, create a new account, and start over. Kind of pisses me off.
yes, even a new console. Hell I'll need to use a fake name and address too, otherwise they will know!
Or you could just start another account on your xbox and go to town

I thinks that's a bit over board lol. The nature of RNG is that it is random. It is entirely possible that the next 20 items to drop for you will be gjallarhorn. It's also possible that you will never get it. Patterns do not exist in RNG.
-
Also, another thing that makes me think the RNG isn't purely random: every Hunter I've played with on Crota, literally every single one, has ghorn, and they don't need it usually because they are running sword. I've inspected countless hunters and every time ghorn.

This isn't exactly pure RNG, it's weighted imo/ime. Once you get a gun once it starts to drop more often. I think there is a 0.00000001% for my account to get one. So there is a random chance, but I'd have better luck playing the lottery.

There is no proof that is weighted. You could be just unlucky. Like I said, patterns don't exist in RNG.

Edited by Bloom Unknown : 3/15/2015 1:11:13 PMI and many others have experienced what i described above, it's anecdotal evidence but that's all we have. It's not proven or confirmed by research or Bungie, but the theory does hold some weight. But you're right, if it is purely random with even weight distribution, I could just be unlucky. Either way it sucks.
