FYI, you're mostly referring to the militant fedora wearers when you say scientists. Any scientist who can think rationally wouldn't invalidate the existence of an entity simply because we can't prove it. It's a hypothesis that is almost impossible to answer, and any good believer in science wouldn't draw up a conclusion from something in which our evidence for/against it is incomplete.
