A comm engineer in the defence forces of Ireland.

What are the Irish police forces like? I've always wanted to move over there and it may be feasible in a year or two.

[Huge generalization here] what are they like? Considered more honest or more corrupt? More tactical or more customer service? General requirements for service? I can google a lot of this but I may not get the honest results of an Irish citizen.
