If you won't change your diet, you're going to see minimal gains. Diet's even more important than lifting, really. People refusing to change their diet is why you see people who've been going the gym for years and look like they've only been going for months. Eat right or don't bother.

Yeah, I eat way more now than I did before I started lifting. But I don't touch junk food, fast food and so on. A McBurger may seem deceptively high in calories or protein, but it's all bad - it'll ultimately put fat on you and ruin your potential gains. If you're looking to gain mass, I suggest you look into clean bulking. That way you can put on muscle at a steady rate without gaining any fat.
