Yes, Call of Duty is bad for the gaming industry, or should I say the dumbasses who buy it every year are bad for the gaming industry. With it being a mega success while changing very little over a years time, this gives other developers the idea that they can do that too, or publishers the idea that they can do this with their successful properties. (Look at Ubisoft and Assassin's Creed, AC2, then Brotherhood then Revelations) All in the span of what? 3-4 years? All without a major leap in technology. Then there was a substantial break, and AC3 comes out, it has those technological leaps and bounds. So, if you want improvement in your games over time, Call of Duty isn't doing it, and it's making billions. People want to make billions, so they'll want to follow the CoD formula. Things become stagnant quick, and we accept it. So, yeah, Call of Duty is bad for the gaming industry, but it's all the people who purchase CoD year after year which are the real problem.

  • That's like telling me I'm a bad person for enjoying a burger with fries year after year. Sorry I like COD.

  • I like Call of Duty, it's a great game. But it's the same game year after year. It's like re-releasing Halo 3 every year with a new campaign and different multiplayer maps. Sooner or later you should realize things will never get better if you're satisfied enough to buy the game year after year. If enough people petitioned buying Call of Duty on it's next release and let Activision know that they want a step up from what they've been getting, you'll see better games.

  • Yup, and I don't see it slowing down anytime soon. In fact a lot of the people that say it's bad end up buying it lmao "i got it because my friends got it"

  • And people who think the last 2-3 iterations of it suck, are still going to get the next iteration thinking it will be better, but it will still suck, and they'll still play it.
