I already beat the game and may be a little late on this but, how do you grab great apes by the tail and drop them?

Target the tail, and throw. If he knows you are there, he will send you flying.

Yeah no one taught me how to throw, you drop them to a knee then lock onto tail, get right on top of it, hold block and while holding block hit B if your on Xbox or O if your on playstation

Lock onto the tail and perform a throw move.

When you take down the first bar and can actually hurt them lock on to there tail and press the buttons to do a grab and you will do massive damage.
