Universal Remote could use a buff.
Now in my opinion it doesn't need too much of a buff, after all it is a primary shotgun. However the one thing I think could make the weapon feel more exotic would be an increase on ammo size.
Considering how slow the reload speed is an increase from 5 shots per mag to 7 shots per mag would make the weapon feel more exotic. Or perhaps in increase in the amount of reserve ammo. I know it is a shotgun but seriously Bungie we expect our primaries to hold a lot of ammo and my experience with the Universal Remote (as well as the No Land Beyond) is that it needs more ammo.
Well, those are my opinions on how the Universal Remote could be improved upon.

4 RepliesGive it an Impact buff due to it's low RoF, Give it a high base range, replace Crowd Control with Shot Package so you can take advantage of the Universal Remote perk for bonus precision damage

It needs a range buff IMO I had it pre shotgun patch (the first one) and it was hella sick, now it's got the power but the range is a joke compared to what it was.

Needs more impact, better barrel mods like field choke, and maybe a tighter spread. It's impact is the same as the high rof shotguns for some reason...

This last patch really crushed UR. Its basically unusable even without ADS'ing. Often times it won't even take the shield bar away from point blank. It's a shame really be I enjoyed learning and using the weapon.

4 RepliesUniversal Remote I think needs to have a very very small increase to rate of fire, a big pve range buff, and... Void damage? Yeah, Void sounds good. At the moment it's kind of a niche weapon, largely for Crucible use, where the Crowd Control shines.

I agree that it could use a buff, but not to ammo capacity. Sure, it doesn't hold a lot - but neither does any other special weapon. [spoiler]And while is does go in the primary slot, the Universal Remote [i]IS[/i] a special weapon. It is classified as such in the Grimoire, and cannot be used in bounties that require primary weapon performance.[/spoiler] However, I agree that it could use a buff - but to its range. The Grimoire describes that it has the effective range of a precision rifle. And while I don't expect it to be that far at all, its range should not have been nerfed with all of the other shotguns. Doing so significantly undermined the weapon's exotic ability.

I have 2 now, the only exotic drops I have ever got. It's pretty fun in the crucible.
