  • Can't just sit there talking over the mic with someone and expect them to learn. This sorta thing would work only as a supplement if they're already enrolled in some type of course for that language.

  • I was actually intending for it to be used as a supplement, like for someone who has a tenuous grasp of the basics but wants a way to practice while also having fun. Or someone who can't travel to France to learn French through immersion.

  • I was playing Battlefield 3 back in the day and got slotted in a European server that was team chat (as opposed to squad chat) and everyone ended up yelling and swearing at each other in French and English. Everyone had a blast. The idea is to have something a bit more structured and use online gaming as a common ground of sorts to wear down the language barrier.
