The sun is a solar mass that

Hydrogen per day than the weight of all the planets asteroids, moons, comets and the Oort Cloud equaling to An in fathomable amount of energy and heat, on top of that
The heat we experience today is over 170000 years old and still going strong, I think it's safe to assume the sun would win against anything inside our solar system, plus all it would really have to do to kill all those

Nor would it protect the billions of lions, biological mass from earth has not evolved under the right Conditions to be resistant to solar winds, nor The vacuum of space, they would quickly die from lack of pressurized environment and asphyxiation, that or their Flesh would decay so rapidly in the solar wind they would be dead directly after Leaving the magnetosphere
