Sounds to me like your storage has been filled over the years with system updates and such. You could try a complete system restore and hope that the updates have been compiled and reduced in size when delivered at once, but that's a long shot. Time for a new phone if you need space for stuff, bro.

On call? It's all really quick these days. You can walk in with you old phone, keep the same number, and walk out with the new one without ever losing service.
