Gunsmith= Every week has a bunch of older legendary guns at the higher damage level such as Shadow Price etc. Prices can be a bit high and he can have about 5 slots for old weapons that change each week.
Gunsmith= Give the ability to re-roll a legendary weapon. However this can only be done once.
Gunsmith=Repair option, after so many missions your weapon starts to show wear and tear, you've gotta take it to him to be repaired at a fee of course. If a weapon damages too much during a mission it cannot be used.
Gunsmith=Allow you to choose what sight you want on your weapon (this is cosmetic only and does not change states like range and stability)
Gunsmith=Offers a shooting range to test damage and range on weapons.
Gunsmith/Vanguard=After much study the Vanguard offer a 2 part mission that allows you to find a part for the Strangers Rifle that upgrades it to a legendary. At the same time some hints are found as to who the stranger is or who she works for.
Bungie, make it happen nao

Edited by Kreisash: 3/2/2015 8:20:30 PMI think wear and repair is a bit too much. Grinding money for repairs in wow really wasn't fun and it's bad enough grinding for glimmer now. I was going to say random legendary weapon every 48-72 hours or so. Re-roll yes, but haven't thought about how to balance that yet. Motes I guess, but cost more than IB, or limited number like you say. Oh, and I want to rename him "The Cook".

Re-roll can be balanced because it can only be done a single time so you either stick with what you have or gamble on new stuff. Reroll can be 2 motes of light, 2 energy, 200 glimmer. Weapon damage can be done by number of deaths so like 30 deaths with a weapon cause damage. This actually gives incentive to stay alive in PVE which currently there is none and you can suicide bomb the AI as many times as it takes.

I understand your point re more cautious play but I think that's the wrong way to do it. Instead, you should make the rewards better for less deaths/more contribution. Otherwise you encourage more afk play.

I've a feeling that these are more like Destiny 2 ideas really.

Bet Destiny 2 will be completely different

I would appreciate a 331 Shadow Price...upgrading existing weapons should be an option for those of us who have been around long enough to see favorites pass by the wayside of damage upgrades.

Photos of HoW weapons show a Vanguard auto rifle with shadow price type stats. Could change though

I heard it was them testing new damage values with old models...but I would love a new version.
