Felwinter's Lie is a sniper rifle. Easily.

11 RepliesYou know why shotguns are OP? Because people do not check their radar. Even with blink, slide whatever - if you keep an eye on the radar you will be killed by shotguns a whole lot less. This isn't advocating defensive play in the sense that if you see someone on radar you should immediately seek distance. But if someone is close by, and your first instinct is to run at them then don't be surprised if you get shot gunned. Equally, if you see someone on the radar that's at a distance and the radar becomes a stronger red colour pretty quickly, expect to get rushed at. In short, look at your -blam!-ing radar and develop some awareness of your surroundings, just because they had a shot gun does not exclude the fact that you failed to take adequate steps to counter it. It's not that hard.

It's a manual entry of weapon perks that overrode a previous patch. It has range finder and another range boosting perk. Those 2 perks were supposed to be mutually exclusive. When I first saw the weapon I knew it'd cause trouble in crucible. The range finder perk by itself effectively defeats the recent shotgun nerf in pvp. It'd be like a non exotic version of universal remote.

I have a full auto Felwinter's Lie, so it has about the same fire rate as the Swordbreaker. It's laughable how ridiculous the gun is in Crucible. It's the first shotgun I've really used in PVP.

I'm not a fan of shotguns in pvp but after the damage buff it is wrecking shit in pve!

Whenever I see someone running around with Felwinter's Lie, I just pull out my Plan C and wreck them before they can get close enough. Really it's the only counter. Even after the patch that thing has a ridiculous one shot kill range, especially with Rangefinder.

I just pull mine out and backpedal, considering you're moving away from their bullets and they're moving towards yours it's an easy kill, I have QuickDraw on just to use it as a defensive gun

I ran afoul of it a lot in Iron Banner but I still prefer my full-auto Secret Handshake. It fires [i]so[/i] fast! Still, I do kinda wish I'd mustered up the glimmer to get Lie...

Changes were only in pve the thing is good even before i got it maxed it was a one fit in IB from a good distance

Unless you're within melee range, you might as well kiss your sorry ass goodbye if you don't do enough damage to allow for cleaning up the mess after the first shot. Furthermore, the reload speed on this thing is horrendous. While there is Flared Magwell available (if you happened to get it in a reroll), most of the time the go-to stat boost is Hammer Forged. This is coming from someone who mostly plays PvE and has an acceptable K/D in PvP.
