Fair point, but it's mostly used in Japan, in reference to anime fans. Actually, I wouldn't know, seeing as I've never been to Japan, don't know jack about Japanese culture, and my only exposure to the country is through broken English, shouted names of fighting moves, and characters that have eyes bigger that their foreheads.
