You don't need any bonds to level up your vanguard or crucible, in fact you don't even have to wear one.
It's not like the factions where you need to wear the faction's class item to level it up.

All reputation gains go to FWC, do, and NM when equipped. Fortunately Eris was rank 2 so I bought hers and now can get vanguard via patrol. I'd i wasn't rank 2 with her though, same problem.

Well if you have the fwc bond equipped of course they'll go to fwc.

That did not occur to me, but my stance on this is simple: WHY does it require rank 2 on the other vendors? It's free advertising for them... lol...
