No. I like it the way it is. Maybe return to the start rather than orbit, but I like it how it is.
The easiest way to make them less tedious and more fun is simple: cut the amount of damage needed to kill the bullet-sponge bosses like VT and Omni by half.
The boss is always the easiest part of nightfall. They should either make the bosses harder in an interesting way, or just make them quick to kill. It's not fun spending 80-90% of the time it takes to complete nightfall shooting at a sponge. That is just lazy game design.

While I completely agree with making bosses different/not bullet sponges, that won't happen any time soon in Destiny. So, as an alternative, I suggest what I posted. Making the fire team restart from either orbit or the start of the level encourages players to stay back and spam ice breaker bullets for 15 minutes. Creating checkpoints allows an ease for players to use other weapons, supers and get a little more up-close if they want to. Overall I think we can both agree that some changes need to occur to the Nightfall whether it be mine, yours or just anything to make them less tedious to play.

I completely agree that having to start from orbit is one of the reasons why people go for the cheese; but I still feel that that is one of the good things about Nightfall (the fact that you can't all f*ck up). Maybe having it as, if you wipe at the boss, you start from the boss? But if you wipe before that, it's back to orbit again. That would have people more likely to have fun fighting the boss and not worrying about wiping and having to go through the whole thing again.
