whats with all the gjallarhorn hype?
Recently I beat crota on normal and was gifted the gjallarhorn and the hunger of crota. I dont see why I would waste my exotic slot for the gjallarhorn when I have the hunger of crota. They are basically the same. Besides how badass the Gjallarhorn looks lol. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Probably because gjallarhorn does twice as much damage and you can have one extra rocket at full capacity.

I don't know why there is so much hype. I have it just to level it up and vault it. Got it last night from nightfall and was not impressed. Light weapons have so much more use than a heavy.

I was going to say something but it seems most have enlightened you on the matter and the ones that say ghorn isn't worth it's weight in salt are either a)ghornless or b) want everyone to know how much a beast they are cause they don't use it. I personnaly, go the easy route and use it. if you think that makes me an elitist or a bad player, I could give 2 F's

U must be trolling .... Wait till you get wolf pack rounds.... Then max it out ..... Do fist of crota mission and shoot one hunger at the sword bearer ...he will still be standing ..... Now go back and do the same with gally..... He will have never existed

I have multiples of both, all of which are maxed out and use both frequently for different load outs and let me assure you, they don't even exist in the same ballpark as far as single-target damage, by nearly a factor of 2:1. The vast majority of cluster bombs from the HoC don't hit the original target and if the target is airborn (wizards etc.) none of the cluster bombs hit the original target whereas Wolfpack rounds from the GHorn all hit the original, nearly doubling the initial damage. The HoC's main and obvious strength is that it's legendary (hence the only reason it would ever see use from a GHorn owner). The GHorn earns the exotic slot on a very regular basis.

1 ReplyI've had HoC maxed for a while and got my first Ghorn in Friday. Levelled it up the to last damage node this morning then used it for the nightfall. I like HoC but Ghorn is all it's cracked up to be IMO.

Basically one Gally rocket equals almost two of every other rocket launcher. For example, takes one rocket to take out shrieker in Witch room with Gally on normal. Two HoC rockets to take out shriekers. Conserves ammo, heavy ammo is a premium when u hav to wait 5 mins for cool downs

It's tracking rockets plus mini tracking rockets compared to tracking rockets plus modified form of land mines.

1 ReplyIt's ok against bosses (honestly I think snipers are a better weapon against most of them) but if you want a yellow bar major to go down, it's perfect.
