While i agree with your point, lets not pretend the guy who steals candy from children is "good".

He isn't good but neither is the kid yet the kids being praised while this guy is receiving death treats

The kid is a child. And should be judged, as a child. I dont see where the behavior is different from this kid over any other 11 year old kid. I do agree that the kid learned a valuable lesson, cheaply. But to sing praises to the offender? He is -blam!-ing trash and I wouldnt piss on his head if it was on fire.
