For everyone who thinks it is ok for this to happen
All your game progress in your favorite game should be deleted
Then youll be the ome on the other side of the stick
And its not his fault. He is a kid and has no idea how the world is so very much messed up. If you saw a way to make things easier you would do it, he had no idea that this would happen.
Sure he cheated, but no one deserves that.

That's fine with me, most games I play are ones that I'd be completely fine with restarting. Kids gotta learn.

But a game like destiny? Or dark souls? Or world or warcraft? Games that take hours, days, even weeks to grind?

Destiny? Sure. Dark souls? Gladly WoW is completely different, I never liked it but that's a different scale, you can't compare it to something like Dark Souls or Destiny. I doubt a kid could get far enough into that game for the gear to matter that much anyways.

So? Everyone has been screwed over one time or another, unless you've put years of your life into a game then the data isn't worth fussing over. Let the kid learn his lessons. I put 2 years into runescape back when I was younger but I was stupid and let someone get my account details. When I got my account back my character had nothing left. Yeah I got pissy but I went back to the grind because I was taught that if I did something stupid I would deal with the consequences.

Sour? Haha you misunderstand me friend. I have no sympathy for people because of the way I was raised. It's a video game, suck it up, deal with the consequences, don't be stupid next time.

It's not that I think everyone else [i]should[/i] get screwed over but that everyone does get screwed over and I guarantee the majority of those people don't get a legion of people backing them.

I love that game and I just started a new save file today actually so whatever. Kermit the frog shouldn't be punished, the kid tried to cheat and skip over everything and get to the top. Same thing happens in COD sometimes, people join a modded lobby thinking they will get to the highest level without having to do anything and sometimes they lose player stats and have to restart as punishment for cheating. If anything punish them both, the kid for trying to cheat and Kermit for "poor sportsmanship" or something. [spoiler]yes I cheat at games too but I only cheat in games that have cheat codes like GTA IV and V, or the Lego Star Wars games I used to play when I was younger. I only cheat in games that allow you to cheat with codes or unlocks. If it effects multiplayer I won't do it because that's just not fair to the other players.[/spoiler]

Not really. His mom bought it. And my aunt is a total (Insert random derogatory slang word of the day) and I don't feel the slightest bit sorry about wasting her money. In fact we actually put a video of it melting next to a marshmallow on YouTube. So needless to say he was totally on board for the whole ride. But you know. Desticals gonna hate.
