Here are my suggestions, and explanations for the huge balancing issues in Destiny's economy. What do you think?
First, my points. There are several economic mediums that muck up the buying power of certain things. Glimmer NEEDS to be more important, and more available. Liquidity is a major issue in this game.
GLIMMER should act as the most versatile and abundant form of exchange.
MARKS are earned through feats, so they act as TOKEN VALUES for rewards, NOT monetary values for resources.
So, INCREASE the cap, and output of glimmer.
Now, heres the balancing solution;
A General Merchant at the tower, ready to purchase unwanted rewards in exchange for glimmer.
- sell unwanted ships
- sell unwanted sparrows
- sell/exchange unwanted ascendant mats
- sell unwanted armor
- sell unwanted guns
- BUY/SELL resources
- sell unwanted shaders
- sell unwanted emblems
ETC.
REMOVE MATERIALS FROM MARK VENDORS. MARKS NEED TO BE EXCLUSIVE.
Removing resources from crucible/vanguard vendors will also balance out the grossly scarce output of 100 per week.
I have other balancing ideas, but what do you think? Suggestions, issues, fixes?
Edit 1: purchase/sell hadronic essence, sapphire wire, and plasteel peeling?
Remember, its a MERCHANT, what they buy and sell back will be merchant prices.
EXAMPLE - purchases items at cheaper prices than they sell them. (Only applies to items that can be sold)
EDIT 2: Created a poll/discussion version
"More glimmer, what do you think?"
