Not only that (and thank you for the input it's much appreciated), but if Bungie made it a seasonal thing imagine the positive reactions from community and the reviewers. This is a whole UNIVERSE of possibilities. The lore behind it in the game could be about things like the "guardian who went dark" on the moon, and how he crafted his own weapons, or "The unknown guardians" who were the first to be given their powers by the traveller. Implementing these community designed weapons into the game doesn't need to make them game breaking. It just means that the community, who is part of this game, are working with the developer since neither can exist without the other. If I was a developer id be all over having community submit these weapons so I could put them into the game. ;o)
