Only scrubs have to use a hunter and go invis to beat him. I've beat him with all classes every week since week 1 as the sword bearer and have never once gone invisible to do it.

That's true, but if you have a Hunter in your fireteam why not use it to your advantage...

I don't believe it to be an advantage. I can get 8 smashes in one sword with a titan warlock or hunter only downing crota twice. I can get 9-10 smashes and a super if I down him 3 times with one sword. Why the hell would I need a hunter?

I'm just saying, invis strike makes things less stressful for Swordbearer. Definitely not required tho

You have to drop the sword in time to do it which is time that could be spent smashing. It's a crutch for those without proper timing. Helpful yes necessary or advantageous, no.

The time it takes you to go invisible comes from time that could be spent smashing crota so yes. I don't believe it's an advantage.

Not if you do it right I go invisible right before he gets up and I don't miss out on any hits

How is dropping the sword and melee slower than you turning and running away? Plus you don't drop the sword to melee until he turns orange. At which time he will be immune to your attack. So no, that time cannot be spent smashing Crota. Btw I run sword on both my characters. The hunter is definitely easier. You're next to him before he goes down, can easily get 4 smashes, not hard at all to get 5, and still have time to blink strike. Edit: for grammar.

We beat him in 2 swords regularly and as a titan. I tend to take 3 but my friend does 2 like clockwork.

When I'm on my titan I let a friend run the sword, and that's only because he wants to run it and get experience and since I always run the sword it's hard for anyone else to get experience, so titan Ian my designated ghorn time

I also snipe boomers when I'm not running sword. Our clan has one other guy who's legit with sword like me. Sometimes I prefer to just sit on mid ledge and take it easy sniping boomers. :)

Yeah, it gets pretty stressful running the sword all the time, just need to sit back and relax on the ledge every now and then

Do you let level 31s on your team? Sounds like lessons could be learned.

We usually take 1-2 31s with us but only clan members.
