~.~ seems like a waste of money. Why not help actual dogs in need
English

That's what your average civilian is for. Not a professional in robotics and engineering. This is not a waste of money. Our taxes go into many a thing that do nothing to advance us
-
Clearly we need to put more money into with the amount of animals put down and strays
-
The money you think is being wasted is being put to research ways to help not only people but also animals. This and many other animals have been given replacement limbs. Human's have created precise and ever improving new limbs that will eventually help animals as well. Common public is the reason pets are being put down. Not engineers and robotics technicians. The failure to neuter or spay pets causes the population to boom without homes that can nourish them. There's no way there's going to be enough money to eliminate the need to put animals down. It's not a matter of monetary value. It's a matter of people treating their pets right and being smart about it. If you truly see that as a more devastating problem than potentially creating comfortable lives for people and animals alike then I don't know what to tell you man.
