I saw a thorough review on it and it looks very mediocre :

It sprays a tonne of bullets, but does very little damage per bullet.
I'd wait until the next update and see if it did get a buff or not before spending the effort of upgrading the Husk to the Eidolon Ally.
PS: I have the Eidolon Ally and just needed the crux to upgrade it. It's not a very good weapon as is - very low impact damage.

what buff? auto-rifles are getting nerfed :/... got the crux today, but don't see myself wasting time evolving husk of the pit :/ This gun should be one of the best in the game, if not the best... but loool, my hardlight and monte carlo seems better

In previous "Nerfs", some weapons lost, some gained. So saying all weapons of a type are being nerfed may not be accurate. And all I suggested was waiting to see what they actually do.
