Or you could just not allow people to have guns without a strict licence. Like in England. Where I live. Where we barely have any gun crime. Yeah.
Edit: I know this wouldn't really work in the US... Just more saying it works here.

How does it work there can I have my hunting rifle just fine?
-
You'll have to apply for a gun licence, keep it in a lock box, only use it on private land (or registered sites?) ect. I live in the country so I know a few folks with rifles. Just farmers and people who go game hunting for pheasant and partridge.
-
Cool I like that I mean that's all I'd want a gun for anyway.
-
You'd have to check though... Basically if you have a real legitimate reason for owning a gun and apply, you could probably get a license. But I'm not too sure lol
-
That works in England, where almost everything has to be flown/shipped in. Non-island countries would have a bit more issue with weapons coming across the borders.
-
True. It's awkward for countries that already have lax gun onership laws too... I mean, what criminal would hand over his gun?
-
The flaw in this is that the criminals who kill people won't turn their guns in. You would be taking what guns from the law abiding people
-
True. It's kinda awkward to recall stuff afterwards... Im just saying it works here so don't discount it. However, implementing it would be a nightmare so will likely never happen.
-
Yeah i get you, but there are alot of things to consider. It's like, why would you give up your last defense. also i live in a city where something like 90 percent of the US drug traffic comes through. I would be very afraid of the civilians can't defend themselves from guns
-
I get you. It's awkward how guns lead to more guns... It's kinda close to knife crime here. One guy gets stabbed, others start carrying knives to protect themselves. Then those people lise their temper/get drunk ect. and stab someone in a blaze of fury. Then more people feel threatened and begin to carry knives. Same kind of thing but less serious.

First reply. We've already devolved into the ordinary gun control debate. Congrats.
-
I'm just saying, I don't really get what all the fuss is about. I mean, it's hard to understand when you come from a country where it's not a thing. Sorry :(
-
No problem, you do have a valid point, but something like that would never happen in the US.
-
Yep. Discussing the same thing with another guy on here. It's way to late for that to work and could leave civilians at a disadvantage to criminals.
