The sh*tiest thing I've ever seen in a co-op game. Ever.
This just happened....
I'm on lfg looking for two people to do the Phogoth nightfall. I go into a game with two xmas 31 noobs, and they also don't have any arc weapons...I'm like "fine, I'll just suck it up and carry them (pay it forward and all that)" with my fatebringer, chosen, and thunderlord. Takes about 30 minutes for me to shred the mission and bring phogoth to 1%. I even popped a heavy synth on him because they were doing 0 damage.
"You have been removed from fireteam"
"WTF!? This can't be right. I must've been disconnected. It only says that when you get booted", I think to myself.
10 seconds later. "OMFG THOSE EFFING EFFERS DID NOT JUST EFFING EFF ME IN THE A$$!!!
As I'm shouting furiously at my tv, I get an invite to go back in game. I ask what happened and noob#2 says he doesn't know.
"You have been removed from fireteam"
Now I'm really angry. These kinderguardians did not really just do that. Party up with noob #2 again, and he says pos noob#1 wants to replace me with his other garbage friend so they can all get the nightfall reward and I'll get nothing.

I have a 32 Warlock, 32 Hunter, and soon to be 32 titan.
Despite my fit of rage, I am a bit curious now. Have any of you had this happen to you? Have you ever seen something worse than this in video game??
UPDATE: Guardians have restored my faith in humanity! After I posted this, noob #2 sends me another invite. Apparently he felt so bad that he forced noob #1 to invite me back (although this was several minutes later so maybe they just couldn't get their buddy to join). He tells me the other guy is so embarrassed/such a b*tch that he won't even come back into the party. But we finish (20 minutes after we should have). I got Truth (actually one of two updated exotics I still need!) and he got crap! Haha karma is a beotch! And bravo for the detective work Itz Rogue, you sir get a star! To clarify, Nacho was the guy with a conscience.

Update 2: Thanks for all the feedback guardians. On an unrelated note, my wife (who is 8 months pregnant) was rear-ended on the freeway this morning. We've spent the whole day at the hospital, but they think the baby is ok. What a scare though...really puts things in perspective.

I had this happen once, it was some random guys on the forums. Luckily it was Nexus and we'd only just finished the first part, I promptly removed them from my friends list. Also, loving the fact you got something and they got rubbish!

Glad you got the decent reward (Truth). Take some comfort from the fact that one of them felt bad about what his mate had done and invited you back in...... That other guy's a douche though......

I do this to my friend all the time but I always let him back it's just funny hearing him rage about it but to do it to someone who's carried you is just straight up disrespectful if it's obvious you ve been carried at least thank the person for doing it

1 ReplyNever do the nightfall or any other strike with randoms for two reasons: 1) it's easily soloable anyway 2) the mission scales in difficulty based on the number of people in your fireteam, so if you have 2 people doing absolutely nothing, you're basically soloing a 3x harder nightfall...

3 RepliesThis is why I am trying hard to find a team / clan at the moment. I have had to many negative experiences with randoms in the last few weeks. I made some great friends in the early days, just not as many still playing... Matching up times is a beeeeetch.

That's just not the way you treat people. It's also why I only run the Nightfall with friends - people who really aren't going to stitch you up.

Guess you'll need to adopt a philosophy that if you are going to carry noobs they promote you to party leader. I would never have even thought of this happening shameful.

That is the most effed up thing I have seen on here, I have a couple friends I run with and have yet to use lfg. But hey man you still looking for some solid runners I doubt with three 32s you need it, I play on 360.

This would never happen to me because a) I don't go looking for teammates to help with solo-able missions (weekly/nightfall whatever) and b) if I DID somehow beg someone to help me with a nightfall I'd definitely be host. Because you can't -blam!-ing trust asshole people man. Lesson learned I hope.

Not had this happen to me but that's down to only doing weekly/NF with regular clan members and if they're not available I just solo. Takes longer but I don't have to subject myself to random players who may turn out to be d-bags.

Saddest part is it's idiots like that who always seem to get the best drops too, while the people that grind the sh*t out of this game get garbage...

Edited by brewsntattoos: 1/21/2015 9:00:48 AMi had something similar happen once. i had to lfg with a bunch of randoms for CE, and they nabbed me as i was the only 32. i ended up walking one of the most dysfunctional groups through the raid i had ever seen. i had to actually take out one wizard and BOTH shriekers with my icebreaker to get to ir yut. by myself. we get to crota, everyone takes a break. i get something to drink. sit down and put my headphones on and they are chatting about finding one more and im like... "huh? there's a full team." then i realize im standing by the crystal by myself. i pipe up "hey, ya im still at the crystal. can i get an invite?" nothing, not even a response. so i try to join through the party, but it's now invite only. "yea, so it's set to invite only. can i get an invite?" still nothing. i know they can hear me cause one guy says "that brews guy says he needs an invite?" nobody even responded to that guy. then someone else joins the party and then they start talking about starting up the raid on the crota cp. i just quietly left. was so damn awkward.
