Stop looking at literal name labels and start being logical. I look at it as a number system. White are 0, greens are 1, blues are 2, purple 3 and yellow 4. This leaves room to grow and get better things. Exotic can also mean different or tropical or strange in appearance. The style of clothing and weapon details follow that.
