PETITION: Remove ability to vault strange coins/bind gear to character upon equip
The ability to vault strange coins should be patched out and gear should be bound to character upon equip because people are exploiting the ability to create 3 characters of the same class and share the gear and coins among them thereby allowing them to gain more coins than designed for use with Xur and allowing them to grind for the raid 3x as much. This is an exploit. Just like the cave. Just like pushing Atheon off the cliff. They must be punished. Bungie make it so.
EDIT: LOL the amount of hate is delicious. I'm wondering how many of you complaining are people who bitch about how Xur is ruining your precious exotics yet farm like this for strange coins. Hypocrits!
2nd EDIT: I like a posters suggestion to make Strange Coins bound to the character they were earned on. This would easily solve half the issue. The other half addressing people who are doing the raid to increase their RNGesus attempts could be likely fixed with some tweaks to the rewards. Such as guaranteeing at least a minimum reward of something decent and worth their time. It seems that people feel entitled to this method because of Bungie's lackluster loot mechanics. Also, another suggestion to allow the other two character slots to be filled with only the two other classes the person doesn't already have would be nice as well.

For real I'm not a fan of exploits , farming is damn boring and glitches are for bitches. That being said though... Who cares if somebody can apply shit they earned to another character? I get were your coming from cause of the coin caps and etc . but they are putting in work . they are grinding the vog 3x as much you said? They are earning those rewards. Like I said I don't agree with the "cheating" methods but this is still working. They have taken those 3 characters and worked grinded and leveled up enough to do those things with them. Let that 1 go and worry about things like actual glitches or people purposely killing themselves in the sake of farming. Also you can't express your opinion then get pissy when its not agreed with others. Did you think you were gonna make the world better ? Ease up bro and realize we aren't always right.

Obviously it isn't an exploit because the game was made this way on purpose. Anyone can make 3 characters, the same or not. If you choose not to, you do not have to punish others that do.

I have played 200+ hours. I have a friend that has played maybe 50 and the only difference is 2 levels and a few guns and a good selection of damage types. This game caters to people who don't have the time to play all day. It already keeps it so my time invested stops me having a crazy advantage. So if I want to put my time into getting my characters up and earning the coins why the -blam!- shouldn't I be able to combine them?

I fail to see how this is considered an exploit. Xur is currently the only vendor in the game who accepts strange coins as currency, and he sells different items each week. If you have three characters of the same class, there isn't much you can buy from him that can benefit you. The only item from Xur that isn't purchasable with strange coins is the Exotic helmet engram, which can only be bought with Motes of Light. And if the engram turns out to be an item that isn't suited for the three characters that you've made, it ought to be dismantled. The same can be said of the Weekly Nightfall. I have three Warlocks myself, and this week I've gotten Exotic armors that are only suitable for Titans and Hunters. Destiny isn't like other MMOs. There is no economy in this game. Players cannot trade items with one another but themselves; the gear is bound to the account. Furthermore, the vault has a limited space capacity, as you can only hold so much item in it. I enjoy collecting exotic and legendary weapons, but soon I'll run out of room to store them, and some of the guns will have to be dismantled for upgrade materials.

Where is that an exploit when Xûr only has one weapon per week, and often one people already have? Instead, Bungie should offer more and better options for spending your coins.

It seems like it would be fairly easy for the game designers to make each character have a solitary vault where items would be non-transferable between characters, but the fact that it is not, AND you may often receive rewards/loot that is for another character type seems to prove there's an incentive here to in fact use the vault as well as create additional characters. This was meant to happen. Just like you cannot remove bounties from your inventory I.e. Exotic bounties, whatever, that too was seemingly meant to happen, not that I'm suggesting everything in this game that can happen was meant that way, we obviously know we are not glitching nor abusing the system in doing this

The storage system was an intended part of the game mechanics. Or was it? Bungie lies about what they "intended" for the game, so it shouldn't be long before they nerf the storage system and claim it was a bug.

1 ReplyI happily get as many coins as possible and pool them together. Others doing the same is in no way ruining the game for me or making it any less enjoyable. I'm enjoying trying out as much of the gear as possible. I'm not really seeing the issue here. I for one am happy others get to try out different exotics and see what works for them. I got wrecked by Suros a few times so I went and bought one. Wasn't my style of weapon, but glad I got the chance to buy it and try.

Im SLIGHTLY against people creating multiple characters to do the raid multiple times, but really I don't care. It was like how I was SLIGHTLY against cheesing the Templar and Atheon. I feel bad doing it but at the same time it's easier. Yet it doesn't give the full satisfaction for beating the bosses legit. EDIT: Plus I also feel that the raid is a bit too easy at the moment. But that's just me. I'd like to actually see a hard long raid in the future. Something that's creepy, exhilarating, and takes at least 3 hours to beat.

LOL; this comes from a player who didn't think to make 3 characters until seeing others now with that set up and is just pissed. This is how all experienced players from an MMO operate. But you wouldn't know that if you come from an FPS background. It is not cheating or exploiting; it is smart; efficient and the result of long range planning.
