knifes and pvp ( Does anyone else feel this way?)
Bungie, Ive been playing the pvp in destiny alpha and it feels kind of bland, like a recreation of halo but a little more bland. You know, like every pvp game. try to find a unique way to spice things up in the future. Also, i feel like when i played as a hunter, the knife was just an ability. U should let the player use the knife more than using it as a tomohawk and a special ability. I know! Make the hunter be able to do assassinations! That was my favorite part in reach. Also, you should let the player judge when to make the knife powered or normal, that would be so cool! And the assassinations could very by if the knife is powered or not
Special assassinations depending on the knife!! For the knife on feild, combine the assassination mechanics in reach with the knife mechanics in cod. Like the battlefield knife mechanics but u can only assassionate a person from behind! If everything here was taken to heart, I would definitely buy the game!

Disagree. No point in having such an internet-boner for "ASSASSINATIONS!1!!!!" They're just a gimmicky way of getting 14 year olds to fist-bump each other.

No. I'm cool with one hit melees to the back, but assassinations are unnecessary in my opinion. Its a gimmick that leaves you open for attack.

2 RepliesAssassinations don't really add anything to the game other than you looks cool right before you die. I don't see how the pvp is bland with it's halo-esque vehicles, supers, movement abilities, rushing for heavy ammo etc

Edited by sergeantawesome: 7/12/2014 2:51:47 PMI don't think that is what they are going for in this game. Each character has their own melee. And the hunter being able to throw his knife I think is badass as it is. And PVP is not the main focus of the game, as good as it is.

Do not get this game,It is not Halo and it is not Reach and there will not be assassinations. Your abilities will get better as you level up what little that you played in the Alpha your abilities were not strong as they will be. If throwing knives like COD and assassinations are your only things that are important to you, then Destiny is not your game.

They should add one hit back smacks though. I really missed that in the alpha, not being able to sneak up on someone from behind and back smack them.

They look cool but really don't do anything other then let johnny be like "he just killed kenny! you bastard!" and reach you before animation is over. I used my knives as my primary in most FPS games. including the destiny Alpha. It's just fine how it is. I play for my team. and hence I play to win. So it's not something that adds to that, am not interested no matter how "COOL" it may be.

6 RepliesExcept this would give the Hunter huge advantages in melee combat. If they implemented any kind of assassination mechanic it would have to be for every class, not just the Hunter. However, at this point of development, it will be impossible to implement.
