I have the money.
Sure I'd rather save the money but my childhood demands I continue The Great Journey.
The core of my video gaming experience has been Halo.
So to watch the MCC, Halo 5 and Halo 6 go by without a second of playing them is somewhat akin to video-gaming heresy.
I'm putting a fraction of my decision in your hands.
EDIT: Of course I'll keep the Xbox One. It's not like I'm going to stop buying Xbox One games once I've finished Halo 6.
The MCC, Halo 5 and Halo 6 may merely be the bridge to the Xbox One because apart from GTA V the last 360 game I bought was... I don't even remember. Fallout: New Vegas?
-
The XBOne needs more than just a 10 year old game, and franchise, for me to cough up $500 (including game price, a second controller and no Kinect).
-
That's what I did lol
-
2 RepliesI'm buying the Xbox One simply as a Halo machine. Outside of Halo, there's not much I want from console gaming anyway. Destiny is peaking my interest but people are saying that the beta is already 10% of the game. However the content in the beta isn't exactly appearing to be huge, so that makes the game seem small if it's already 10% of the way there.
-
If you're a gamer and have the money then it's a no brainer to buy both consoles. Each have exclusives that justify the purchase. -blam!- fanboism.
-
I am.
-
Dude i'm a Halo fan since CE. So yeah i had the original xbox and the 360. To be honest, the only xbox exclusive i had was Halo. NOW i bought PS4 and i don't regret my decision. For me Halo is already dead, move on to the next page. A remake for ALL the halo games is so dumb, BUYING an xbox for ONE (lol) exclusive is dumb.
-
Don't you want to re-watch this cutscene in glorious 1080p?
-
Yes buy two, you can do system link to. I heard.
-
If you pre-order MCC from microsoftstore.com you get $10 live credit.
-
Look for me LORDnICON on x1 live. HALO MCC!!!!
-
I'm going to do it too
-
I wouldn't. Wait until there are more games you want to play on the system.
-
1 ReplyNo. I thought about doing the same but then I came to my senses and realized what a waste it would be to buy a console just to replay old games. The Halo 2 nostalgia fest won't last either once the H5 beta comes out and everyone realizes 343 still sucks.
-
Buy whatever system you want for any "reason" you may feel you need. I am buying a X1 because I like Xbox. Could care less about the small insignificant stuff people here argue about. I just like to play games with my friends and have fun in the process.
-
Halo and Destiny. What else could you possibly need?
-
In the end it's still up to you but yes I would all 4 main halos have proved to be in my opinion damn near perfect games with the exception of halo 4 which is still fun you get over a hundred maps right out of the box 6 remastered Halo 2 maps with all the rest Forge is available for all the maps and if you have some friends than you will have some good times with the MCC
-
I would.

Edited by Pahat Pojat: 7/21/2014 7:46:54 PMI don't like buying Xbox One knowing Halo 5 and forth isn't anything worth it but the original Halos being up and full are demanding it.
-
Yes! Go forth and fulfill your destiny!
pun intended
5 RepliesYou're not continuing the journey.. you're just replaying, and repaying for halo.. Microsoft is literally getting soo desperate that they need to rehash their older games.. its typical really, and personally I dont support Microsoft anymore because they are constantly going back on their word for profits. Microsoft is some snakes.
let the flame commence
4 RepliesEdited by DeleteMyAcct3: 7/19/2014 11:34:35 AMIf you get an X1 for MCC you will get access to the halo 5 beta which is shaping up to be much better than I expected. Halo 5 will be 60 FPS and dedicated servers which I feel is next gen standard. Crackdown 3 will be another on point X1 exclusive along with Gears of War. Those 3 exclusive titles are enough to buy the X1. Release dates are a wait, but worth it. PS4 is still a better pick for gaming in general. Destiny turned out to be an above average game after playing the alpha, and the beta. I still have it paid off, but you can clearly tell the difference with this new bungie staff. That includes all of those who quit, and got terminated. Those were the key employees. 500 million and 10 year contract acted as rose colored glasses to the game, or HYPE. Also the alpha was so fun. When you break it down, it's not so epic. The music is bad. The game is repetitive. You need to play the crucible to get a good ranking with factions. So all of the PvE guys, get in or get out. PvP is wack. The "lore " will not be epic. I know "ITS THE BETA". I'm usually right when it comes to games though. I'm sure pizza Wednesdays that feeds 500 people over the course of ten years makes up a good percentage of that 500 million budget. Oh well. I'll check out the division. First game to have a next gen engine. Why does this seem to be the trend with these new games? I'm glad I had a chance to play the alpha, and the beta. One experience gets the hype train moving. They already got me for the guardian edition and expansion pack of who knows how many. Pissed off does not describe the outcome of this experience.

6 RepliesNo. Four remakes, no matter how great they were at the time, aren't worth $460. Not to mention $60 a year for xbl. If you already have and X1 then it might be worth it. But buying one just for MCC? I don't think it'd be worth it.
-
Why not? But you should probably try other games too
-
Edited by Mystical: 7/19/2014 10:55:21 AMI totally am. If it was not for MCC I would probably have waited another year or longer to get a xbox one. Everything else I have or could have on pc. Getting Halo 1-3 in a version that precedes their past states is going to be amazing. 60 fps, 1080p, and dedicated servers is just going to be epic.
-
Yes, 4 great games (3 great 1 meh) for the price of one, all remaster in HD, nuff said.
-
That's what I'm trying to decide too
