I know that you will be able to get together with a friend and race while roaming the vast open world. My question is: Will Sparrow racing be a game mode, as in an organized race with an official winner at the end and whatnot? Not just a couple friends smashing into each other in their sparrows, shooting towards that rock that they call the finish line, but an organized event? And if not, do you like the idea? I personally think it would be pretty cool.

Remember the tough scenarios of collapsing landscape in the challenging endgame areas of various halos when you had to stick together on vehicles closely or your partners and their vehicles plummeted to their death? Imagine if there is something like this also in the raids, where all six of you have to speed along the horizon but stay close to each other as the earth behind all of you (maybe a fairly narrow bridge?) is collapsing, so you can reach that final boss... Yeah, I know you were talking about sparrow races (which sound cool too), but you also stated organized events... and what would be more organized than a deadly race for survival during a raid?!

Yes, or at least it will be possible.

1 ReplyMaybe, the problem is when you let them go - they just fly off and never come back.

3 RepliesI think that there wont be a game mode but you can tell your friends where the start and finish is and race there

1 ReplyWhat I want to see is the return of rocket race, had so much fun with that gametype in halo 3. But sparrow races without rockets could still be somewhat fun, I would probably play it from time to time.

I'm hoping they give us some sort of throwable ball. Imagine the games you could come up with that coupled with a sparrow and a whole lot of open land.

1 ReplyI don't care how long it takes, but we will have them. And I don't just mean in game types like the community created ones from Halo 3 and then the implemented ones in Halo: Reach. I mean random ones in the middle of the wild. Who can get to the Blind Steppes the fastest? Who can swerve through dunes nearing Charlemagne's Vault the quickest? Who can blast under the dripping canopy of Venus's jungles quieter than a shadow?
