So I want to make this a kind of important post that if I get a big enough list and ideas to couple it, I could show Bungie what we want. If the list get's a little too long I'll make them into segments each with 10 ideas hidden in each Spoiler.
I personally would love for The City to be so engrossed in activities I never have to leave the place.... unless I feel like kicking some ass, and getting some swag on (gear wise)
What thing would you want to see or do in The Last City?

1 ReplyEdited by Cortanis: 2/25/2014 9:15:33 PMFirst off, we need a real space port dock just to solve the world transport issue right off the bat. Like many, I don't want the city to feel deserted apart from players. This is the last safe city after all. Their should be plenty of NPC running around and doing things like what we saw going on in the background of the Starwars movies. How about work on some def. systems or other such things?
Player econ. is obviously going to be a big part of the game. I'd like to see a lot of different shops that offer different merch to go with them. This brings me to what will be purchasable in the initial cityscape. While we don't really know much about this at all, I for one want more than just the option to purchase base quality gear. The ability to only purchase white quality gear in games has never gone well at all for any of them. It's delegated shops into being nothing more than liquidation points more so than anything. As such, I would like to suggest that we be able to "purchase" the shop and upgrade it in a similar sense to the Assassin's Creed games ability to bankroll shops and upgrade the villa. Weapon customization shops- This is more of a sub point in this since we don't really know much about any kind of weapon customization options. However, I would like to suggest a fair and balanced shop based mechanic in the game to go about customizing weapons to player preference. We've encountered this issue in Borderlands 1&2 and the community rather took this one in its own hands. We got everything from super op weapons that really couldn't exist in the game and then we got a whole other crowd that maintained a simple part swapping rule with a cost. I would like to see a part swapping method in the game for this as something that's actually implemented and official rather than what would technically be cheating.
AN ARCADE! Because hey, who doesn't like to play some arcade games from time to time right? Maybe get a little tongue in cheek with it? Duck hunt featuring the fallen shanks maybe? Faction halls are pretty much a must along with leader boards.
We need an archive. If this game is going to be as pronounced and evolving as Bungie has promised it will be, we're going to need a rather well done archive room to keep track of the story and what all is going on in the overworld in the current sense. I imagine part of this would include a map room to show us what all has/is/will be accomplished by the players in this over all story and world. I for one plan to be doing anything available to take back the system from the invading scum D:<

A player housing/hangar. This has always rather been kind of a must in games like this that feature player equipment and assets. Personally, I'd like to see a system in place kind of like what Spiral Knights uses for guild halls. Give us a larger asset reason to spend our glimmer rather than have it become a little used currency. Let us deck the halls and display our phat loot.
1 ReplyHopefully they will make a big Forge where you can either create armor, upgrade armor, or melt armor back down into it's components. I want them to make a blacksmith, too, who you can give materials to and pay them to make your armor if you don't have the patience or proficiency yourself, or you can straight up buy what they might have in stock. That'd be pretty cool, but I don't think they will have that. I also kinda want matchmaking to be in a building in the last city (they said you'd never have to actually go to a menu to access different kinds of gametypes), and so it feels more immersive, like you're actually taking your character into the world of Destiny and upgrading him and then seeing that work you put into making him awesome come out when you join a multiplayer match. It'd also be pretty cool if they made, like you said, a communal place where you can make guilds, and then there could maybe be a building which is a separate instance for each guild (If the guilds are big enough) and you could talk and hang out with you in-game friends, and plan awesome stuff like a raid together.

Edited by The Squatchmen: 2/24/2014 10:10:18 PMHahaha, oh you guys and your parkour. Here's the thing, if you came here to try and troll me about titanfall, you failed. I don't mind the parkour at all in that game, in fact the parkour is what makes it slightly fun (for the amount of fun that in there is nonexistent) Its the game in general that I don't like. I do wish Destiny did have parkour the more I think about it.....and mechs....and giant ass ingenious creatures Oh well
