Hey guys, Bungie told us to wait for E3to see the vanguard. E3 is over now and i still see waiting for a report from the Vanguard, after the last couple of months. The Vanguard is speculated as another class in destiny there have been many hints t-shirts, the waiting for a report from the Vanguard, the trailer at E3 etc. What are your thoughts on the Vanguard, I am interested to hear your views and opinions so please leave a comment

2 RepliesMy wild baseless guess that I made up right now is that the Vanguard is the branch of the FOTC that Players will be a part of. The goal of Humanity and the Guardians is to reclaim their lost empire and expand beyond the City but you need a scouting force to go see what your enemies are up to ahead of the main force. This is a vanguard and I think us players fulfill that role for the city in game.

2 RepliesThe Vanguard isn't a class. The one reason we had to believe it was a class was a misquote from IGN. Most likely, the Vanguard is just a term for a group of elite Guardians that are on the frontline of the battle to take back the solar system, carving a way for their lesser allies.

1 ReplyI think Vanguard might be the new 'Recon'. Something that only Bungie starts off with but they give to others that prove themselves.

1 ReplyI think the Vanguard is actually a faction or a legendary Guardian. Either a guild of the most elite Guardians to have ever guarded the City, or the most honored and reveered war hero to ever have lived.
-
1 ReplyI think it is a name of a legendary guardian that has grown too old to fight for The City, and is a mentor to your guardian, and ultimately, you will surpass him in the end.

1 ReplyMaybe vanguard is a hidden class. The ones who sent/live in the traveler. Maybe if you beat the story, you can become a vanguard.

2 RepliesI saw some video on Vanguard being a new class. The video had some valid points, but I don't really see where Vanguard would fit in... the three main classes of fantasy fighting are basically covered: range/stealth (Hunter), knight/power (Titan), and magic/support (Warlock). Where would Vanguard fit in? A lighter armored Titan? Or could it be a middle class, open to parts of all the classes? Who knows...

5 Repliesvanguard symbol appeared during the public event...

11 RepliesIm thinking he's the guy that controls all the Guardian operations. Since it says "Awaiting Reports from the Vanguard" he's obviously one person and has importance. The Vanguard symbol appears on the public event notification, further proving this. I personaly think the Vanguard is one of the two guys in the gameplay trailer (you know, those two standing on the balcony looking at the Traveler. I think he's the more rugged looking guy though and the silver guy in the mask is some sort of official.

You know how all the new games are planning on using iPads, tablets ect. For a commander or stuff like that ( battlefield 4, the division) so Mabey vanguard is someone who spots enemies, idk as I type this it sounds more stupid hahaha but maybe it an elite fighting group that you have to be a certain rank/level to join and it's just like a real vanguard it captures ground it leads its the tip of the arrow. Maybe something like that hahaha ;p

1 ReplyI bet it's another type of faction or it's what all the guardians are a part of.

2 RepliesVanguard is a type of armor.
