Just finished re-watching the Star Wars movies
And episode 1,2 and 3 are waaaayy better than the other ones.

I like the prequels but love the originals. My least favorites of all the movies are definitely Episode 1 and 2 though. EDIT: Not 1 and 2, 1 and 6.

2 RepliesI couldn't disagree more, but then again I saw the originals when I was a teen. There is no way the prequels will ever eclipse the originals for sheer awesomeness. They were ground breaking in so many ways and established this series as the Empire that it is. -The characters were better. Han Solo, game over -The ships WERE SHIPS (models) not all that CG crap -The aliens were better, again not all that CG crap -There was better action and not all the sloooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwww plot laying story lines that were especially in the first 2 prequels. I don't hate the prequels, and; -love the Obi Wan back story, but HATE whiney Lil Anakin, GAG. -Darth Maul was under used and quite honestly probably one of the best characters in the series. Boba Fett has a cult following, and only had 16 words in the originals. Darth Maul would have destroyed him. Which come to think of it.......

While I will admit that Episode III kept afloat pretty well, Episode II was embarrassing, and Episode I was 'meh'. Episode V or bust.

4 RepliesI honestly think that they need to make an episode 7,8, and 9, with Boba Fett as the main character. He's probably the most badass in all of Star Wars. And they need something to follow Darth Krayt a little bit. Or, they could go back in time make a 3 movie series following Bane, from the mines of Cortosis all the way to his battle with Darth Cognus. Now [i]that[/i] would be a sick ass series.

The originals can't be beat by the prequels because they have the feeling of realism. Characters are real, emotions are real, visuals are real. This creates a very visceral experience for the viewer that the prequels can't recreate. On the other hand we have the prequels which used a storyline to show off special effects whereas the originals used special effects to tell a story. The characters are cardboard cutout a with uninteresting dialogue that belongs on a stage. The over dependance on CGI further dampens this. It's one thing for little things to be CGI, and it's another where literally everything is CGI. Plus, having a fake green screen set restricts the ability for an actor to move at a fast pace.
