Seriously, this is not a big deal. So they get exclusive stuff on the PS4... so what? What does that matter to you? Okay, you miss out on some chapter on Mars where you shoot the Schmeklermins from the Apollo system to gain control of a hill.... cool. This is not as big of a deal as the vast majority of you guys are making it seem.
Additionally, to everyone making "Bungie betrayed us" comments, grow up. This is how the real world works. Activision is not a uniconsole publisher like Microsoft is, and therefore they're obviously going to branch out to different console markets. With all the money and resources Activision are pouring into Destiny, and the lack of pay2play, the idea that they're going to restrict themselves to one market to make back ALL that money is ridiculous and naive.
And, since Bungie has never had any experience selling a game to the Playstation market, what better way to attract people to play a game from a developer they may have never given half a shit about than incentives. You don't need incentives so much once you have them, but they are most definitely helpful in breaking into a new market like the Playstation.
In summation: stop overreacting to something that isn't that big of a deal because you have some sort of superiority and entitlement complex about being a 360 owner who played Halo.
e:
I forgot about Oni, my apologies. but that was so long ago that the vast majority of PS owners will still consider Bungie as an MS exclusive developer until now. My point stands.
All there doing is trying to do is get good sells ith sony players. This is there first ever sony game so they have to make it special to sony players.

4 RepliesSpoken like a true Sony fanboy.
-
3 RepliesI agree with you 100%! No doubt Bungie will have exclusive content for XBOX anyway, they're good like that. Ive never looked sideways at playstation but boy the next xbox will have to be something special or I'm jumping the fence.
-
2 RepliesWell, guys... let's sit down, have a breath or two, and see what's in store for the Xbox 360! Ohhmmmmmm...
-
Am I the only one that thinks the exclusive PS4 content could possible be content that is exclusive to the next-generation of consoles, as opposed to content that is exclusive to a specific console brand? If this is the case then the new Xbox would also experience this exclusive content. Regardless, we won't miss out on much either way. By the sounds of it Destiny is going to be colossal and, as CrazzySnipe said, size-wise this content is going to pale in comparison.

3 RepliesSnipe55... I thin k I love you. Well said, and shares my sentiments exactly. While we're at it, could we please stop all of the -blam!-ing "platform wars"?!?!?!?! Does it really matter what system you play it on as long as the system runs it well? Are your dicks really so small that what system Destiny is played on is really an issue? -blam!-ing grow up.
-
bull BLAM!
-
1 ReplySo they're giving out exclusive content for one console? Disk-locked content not accessible on different consoles? -blam!-'s sake
-
Well said, i'm sure there will be things for Destiny on the xbox only too.
-
Lots of words like "alarm", "screw over" etc... being used in this thread. CS55 makes a great point. Here's my 2 cents - If "exclusive stuff" is enough to push you over the edge than you really need to step away from the controller, get some fresh air and gain some perspective on life. So what if someone gets something extra, your turn will come soon enough. I like passion and commitment but when that turns into obsession and loathing. Well lets just say its time "reboot"
-
It's not timed? It's actually exclusive? Kinda dumb but they need a way to sell to the PS community, people probably hear the name Bungie and assume Halo and MS exclusive so they want to establish a firm spot with them.

17 RepliesBungie just shot themselves in the foot. I don't know how much the rest of you know about FPS culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is on PlayStation where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in the FPS community, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance. What this means is the FPS-playing public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase Destiny for either system, nor will they purchase any of Bungie's games. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Bungie has alienated an entire market with this move. Bungie, publicly apologize and cancel Destiny for PS3 and PS4 or you can kiss your business goodbye.

2 RepliesEdited by CrazzySnipe55: 2/22/2013 2:53:02 AM
Posted by: doubleAgent95 That begin said, i will be a little bit annoyed if the Xbox doesn't get some of its own exclusive content.
As will I, no doubt. But, even if there is cause for alarm at this move, and there's no chance of Xbox exclusives also, there's no reason to declare that Bungie are traitorous dogs or that Destiny is now doomed or anything like that. I don't want people to get the wrong impression: I dislike the PS4 having exclusive content. I will be purchasing neither the PS4 version of Destiny nor the PS4 itself, and I would be a little miffed if the 360/720 didn't get an exclusive also. However, the point of this thread is that freaking out about it, creating slippery slope fallacies, calling Bungie "traitors", and talking about how this is the start to a "very disturbing trend" or something like that is ridiculous and silly. Having calm, logical, well-reasoned discussions about content exclusive to a console? Much-welcomed. Having that same discussion with dramatic overtones and a plethora of "Bungie's changed, man." implications? Silly.

2 RepliesOne console gets exclusive content? That's kind of lame.
-
It really is not a big deal. I don't think anyone can say no one saw them going to PlayStation too, it was fairly obvious.
-
I really don't give a crap right now. I'll wait for more info.
-
I would never let anything like this deter my intent to buy and enjoy Destiny. That being said, I will be a little bit annoyed if the Xbox doesn't get some of its own exclusive content.
-
as long as they have this game available for next gen xbox, I don't give a shit whats available for ps4. Bungie wont forget their main target audience for the past 10 years for this next 10 year adventure.
-
1 ReplyI don't mind, as long as I get to play the game, I'm happy.
-
1 ReplyI'm sure Bungie has something exclusive to the X-Box. I don't think they will forsake us on that, right guys? RIGHT???
-
3 RepliesThat's crazy talk. Everyone knows there are no Schmeklermins on Mars.
-
Couldn't agree more.
-
I'm pretty sure Microsoft will moneyhat their exclusive DLC as well.. Relax.
-
Well i got to admit when a developer known for being with the " All known" MS logo suddenly offers exclusive content to a console no one ever thought they'd even be with it's gotta throw a couple of people for a loop. Now do i think it deserves a over reaction like " Oh bungie betrayed us" no. Lie he said it's normal they want to branch out and see what the other consoles are like after being couped up in that 360 box. Do i on a ps3 no ( i want to uncharted is so much fun) will i get a ps4 just for destiny, maybe not, but that doesn't mean the game nor it's developers are going to forget about their fans on the other console likely we might get our own little bit of exclusiveness to entice a few ps3/4 users to maybe try the other console to see what our exclusive is like. So lets all chill the -blam- out and listen. ( i wouldn't mind like a destiny controller for this game tho that would be a nice thing to send out with the game)
-
Well i havent chosen what console i will be getting next gen so i dont really care, but even then i still dont care all that much because im sure that the xbox will get something exclusive and if not then its not really a big deal
